- The interested party must establish their residence in Andorra for 183 days.
- Obtain a foreign investment authorisation that will facilitate the creation of a corporation in the country (in which they must have a share of more than 34%) and have legally constituted the company.
- Occupying a role in the management body of the aforementioned company.
- Prove, within a maximum period of three months from the date of registration of the entry of the application for immigration authorisation, that the company is the owner of a duly registered and active business in the Principality of Andorra.
As a purely economic requirement for obtaining a residence permit, it is essential:
- Depositing €50,000 non-interest-bearing with the Andorran Financial Authority (AFA). This amount will be repaid in full if and when the individual decides not to continue living in the country (as long as no outstanding debts exist).
Passive residencies
Passive residencies or tax residencies are those that cover one of the following scenarios:
- Residence without profitable activity
- Residence for international professionals
- Residence for reasons of scientific, cultural and sporting interest
- Residence for admission to private care homes or private medical or therapeutic treatment centres
In these cases, a formal commitment will be requested to certify that the effective residence in Andorra will be established for a period of at least 90 days per calendar year.
The economic requirements:
- Verification from the individual in question of an annual income that exceeds the current annual minimum wage by 300%. You must add 100% to this indicator for every dependant.
- An investment in Andorra of at least €600,000 euros. This investment can be made in real estate, the country’s corporations, debt or finance instruments issued by local entities or other types of assets within the Andorran territory.
- A deposit of €47,500 non-interest-bearing with the Andorran Finance Authority (AFA), which must be increased by €9,500 for every dependant.
